The Child Injury Prevention program at the Tuscarawas County Health Department is committed to reducing child injuries by focusing on traffic safety and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
To improve traffic safety, we provide Safe Routes to School education in local schools, host Walk or Bike to School Day events, host "Teen Roadeo" a distracted driving awareness event and offer car seat safety courses to increase parent and caregiver knowledge about proper car seat use. To help prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), we lead a community ACEs Awareness social media campaign and facilitate parent education courses.
