Rural Health & General Medical Clinic

The Rural Health Clinic (RHC) program is intended to increase access to primary care services for patients in rural communities.  To receive certification, they must be located in rural, underserved areas. They are required to use a team approach of physicians working with non-physician providers such as nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), and certified nurse midwives (CNM) to provide services. The clinic must be staffed at least 50% of the time with an NP, PA, or CNM (requirement waived during COVID-19 public health emergency). RHCs are required to provide outpatient primary care services and basic laboratory services.

Marissa has 24 years of Nursing experience, including the last 6 years as a Nurse Practitioner.  Marissa is certified in both Family Medicine and Psychiatric Mental Health and has worked in many different health care arenas, including surgery, healthcare management, primary care, aesthetics, and addiction medicine. 

Marissa grew up outside of Baltic, where she enjoyed a country childhood and learned the value of hard work.  Today, she resides just outside of Dover with her husband, Dave.  They enjoy traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. 

​Marissa's goals include learning to relax and enjoy life while spoiling her grandchildren.

Wellness Counseling Program:
Some of the topics covered in Wellness Counseling include medication management, smoking cessation, nutrition guidance and immunizations.

Pediatric Health:
Children have different health care needs as they grow. We encourage preventative well care, developmental screenings, and immunizations.

Women’s Health:
Comprehensive primary care services for women’s unique health care requirements including preventative screenings and immunizations.

Having a healthy lifestyle can help you to deal with normal aging changes and make the most of your life
